Did You Feel That???

Well... did you??? If you didn't feel it... you must have smelled it. It smells kind of like wet dirt. Maybe I'm crazy... but I swear that yesterday I sensed springtime in the air.

I don't know how it has been for all of you in other states... but here in Utah... it has been a llloooonng winter. So yesterday, when I stepped outside and smelled SPRING in the air, I was so happy I almost cried. We actually shed our jackets while playing. I thought I'd go to the park and read while Andrew played, but I couldn't resist playing too. Oh gracious.....I love springtime.

I Can Do This

I've been really slacking off with tags lately.... mostly because they are all so HARD, requiring lots of reflection and introspection. But... here is an easy one. I think I can do this one.

Here are the rules:
1.go to your my document/my pictures

2.go to your sixth file
3.go to your sixth picture
4.blog about it
5. tag six people

There is not a Mom alive who doesn't love to find that her child has fallen asleep all on her own and that she didn't have to do one ounce of work to get her there. Lizzy is about 18 months old in this picture. And.... I think she looks pretty dang cute.

I tag everyone who is related to me. Sister, Sisters-in-law, cousins, aunts, even Aaron's cousins. That is a lot of you. Maybe someone will do it. :)

An Announcement

I thought I'd find some creative way to announce it, but since nothing has come to mind I'll just say it (well type it).
I'm pregnant. Due September 2nd. Yeah!!!
Names that Lizzy has suggested thus far: Lulu, Jewels, Andrew. (We'll keep you updated on which one we use since we are definitely letting her decide.)

CONFESSIONS

1. Today the kids and I stayed in our PJ's until atleast noon.
2. I read a novel and munched on Marshmellow Matey's.
3. While I read, the kids turned the bathtub into a cozy reading corner and had a blast.
4. We had lunch on the floor on a blanket.
5. The kids had toast and applesauce for dinner.
Lazy.... perhaps. Irresponsible... possibly. Fun.... most definitely.

I'm In Love With a Boy

Things I love about Andrew:
1. I love the song he wrote about me this morning. The lyrics were "I lub you, Mom. Sometimes you get mad at me, but I lub you mom."
2. I love that whenever I get hurt he rushes right over to "kiss it better."
3. I love that after I tuck him into bed at night he often gets out and comes to find me just to say "I lub you" one more time (perhaps a brilliant stalling technique.)
4. I love that at least once a day, he'll say "Mom can I tell you a joke?"
5. I love that when he got to choose a sticker after his doctor appointment yesterday he chose a dog with a pink background because, "Yizzy likes dogs."
6. I love that after he opened his first birthday present he went and hugged and thanked every grandparent in the room (there were 4).
7. I love that he was so excited after opening presents that he couldn't sit still for more than 5 seconds even to eat his birthday cake.
8. I love that he talks and talks and talks about nonsense all day until I maybe get to where I don't love it quite so much.
9. I love that Andrew always offers me a taste of anything he is eating.
10. I love his smile and his laugh and his jokes and his stories and his cuddles and soft tickles and pretty much everything about my little guy.

Happy Birthday Buddy.
I Lub You!!

They're Always Listening

Do you ever talk about your kids in front of them? Kind of over their heads... assuming they won't understand or aren't paying attention?

Andrew's birthday is coming up and we've been talking about it quite a bit. I've talked about what he's getting but then have always explained to the other listener... "Don't worry... he's not paying attention."

Today at the grocery store with Lizzy and Andrew I said, "Okay we need to get one more thing for Andrew and then we're done." Assuming I was talking about Andrew's birthday... Lizzy quickly shushed me. Andrew reassured as all though, "Don't worry Mom... I'm not having attention."

Girls Only

Yesterday was Mama Day. That's when Lizzy and I get to spend a special afternoon together, doing the girliest stuff that we could think of.

Trying on sparkly shoes.

Trying on dressess.
(We were hugely disappointed that we couldn't find some that were more lacy and/or sparkly... but you take what you can get.)

And of course.... ice cream to top it all off.
Mama day is also a special time to talk about "stuff" that you don't talk about everyday. Like how Mom and Dad met and what's a "teenager" and what makes you happy and what do you worry about? I only hope that Mama day will still be cool in 10 years. 'Cause I love 'em. Lots.
