Oh What Do You Do in the Spring Time??

Aaron has had a lot of time off lately and so we have been keeping ourselves busy. I feel like we have to be outside enjoying every single second of good weather before Aaron starts work again and it gets too hot to enjoy it anyway. Here are a few pictures from our outdoor adventures.

It's a little bit unsettling to go in at night to check on the kids and find this empty bed. But it was all good when I found that Lizzy had just been looking for someone to cuddle with. I sure am glad they have each other.

Zions

Riverside trail

Aaron thinks that I had a deprived childhood because I have lived in Utah my entire life and never visited Zion National Park. I'm beginning to agree. (Just kidding Mom and Dad). It was really an amazing trip and I have to say, it was much more beautiful than I imagined. I've been to Red Rocks and San Rafael and Snow Canyon and I imagined that Zions was a lot more of the same. (Don't get me wrong, I love rocks.... but you can only take so much... you know what I mean.) But Zions is much more lush and green and beautiful. We spent 2 nights camped in Zions and then 1 night in a hotel in St. George cleaning up, swimming and meeting up with Justin, Megan and Brett. Saturday morning, the boys rode bikes through Snow Canyon while Megan and the kids and I visited the St. George temple. Here are a few highlights.Andrew and Lizzy loved bridges on this trip. We looked for them everywhere.

At the top of the Emerald Pools. We seriously had some tough kids who made this hike on their own.




We stayed pretty busy with hikes, but in our spare time the kids collected caterpillars. The morning that we left, they had collected 35 and were very disappointed that Mom and Dad didn't let them bring them home with us.

Weeping Rock. In several places in Zions there are rocks that are always wet. The rocks are very pourous and absorb water from rainfall and then it slowly seeps out. This water seeping out is thousands of years old. So amazing.

We had those kids tired out by the end.
